This week in Celebrity Homes: Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale split their real estate assets, Kathy Griffin goes big(ger), and John Krasinski and Emily Blunt take a 100-year step back in time.

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale’s Beverly Hills estate

(7 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, 11,845 sq. ft) – US$35 million

JUST SOLD: Given their divorce is finalized, it’s time to sell off the assets, beginning with their multi-million-dollar mansion. Initially purchased in 2006 for US$13.25 million, the former lovers stand to make a hefty return, even after splitting the profit. The home features vaulted ceilings, marble floors, a state-of-the-art screening room, professional gym, and infinity-edge swimming pool. We can go on and on about this home’s features, but we rather wallow in self-pity over the fact we’ll never come close to owning this spectacularly visual property.

Andrew Scheinman’s Bel Air home

(5 bedrooms, 6.5 bathrooms, 6,020 sq. ft.) – US$11.495 million

FOR SALE: You may not recognize him by name, but you probably know the movies he’s produced – does “The Princess Bride” and “When Harry Met Sally” ring a bell? Initially purchased in 2013 for US$2.931 million, Andrew put in numerous renovations to double the then 3,600-sq. ft. home. The newly improved property now features floor-to-ceilings glass doors, fireplace, three garden atriums, state-of-the-art media lounge, and huge lounging terraces with an angular swimming pool. Need we say anymore?

A gorgeous beachside home.

John Krasinski and Emily Blunt’s Brooklyn townhouse

(5-7 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms and 2 half bathrooms, 4,400 sq. ft) – US$6 million

JUST BOUGHT: Married superstar couple/actors Emily Blunt and John Krasinski are putting down roots in New York City, after dropping US$6 million on a 20th century townhouse built by Otto Singer and designed by esteemed architect Arthur R. Koch. Just steps from Prospect Park, the home is well-preserved and boasts most of its original architectural designs like inlaid parquet floors, plaster moldings, half a dozen fireplaces, and what’s described as a “movie-theatre room”. It’s a cosmopolitan change from their previous LA property, which they listed in September.

Louis Tomlinson’s Hollywood Hills estate

(4 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, 6,000 sq. ft.) – US$7.3 million

JUST BOUGHT: Louis Tomlinson of One Direction musical fame has decided to call Los Angeles home, snapping up a 6,000-sq. ft. mansion for US$7.3 million. Built in 1937, this architectural beauty is a mix of contemporary style and classic design. It includes French doors throughout, a theatre and bar that open to a lounge area, an infinity pool, and panoramic  views overlooking the Hollywood sign and Los Angeles.

Kathy Griffin’s Hollywood Hills home

(5 bedrooms, 5.5 bathroom, 8,095 sq. ft) – US$5 million

FOR SALE: TV star and comedian Kathy Griffin is moving out and up! Initially purchased in 2004 for US$2.85 million, Kathy will almost make a 100% return on her home investment, which is great because she can put it towards the US10 million Bel-Air pad she recently purchased. The palatial home has a covered outdoor patio with fireplace, chef’s kitchen, eat-in breakfast bar, high-end appliances and “killer views” as per the listing.

Don’t Stop Believin’

Though new rules may make it harder to get a mortgage moving forward, it can’t stop you from dreaming big – hopefully one day you’ll buy your very own US$35 million estate! Use these mortgage calculators to determine what you’ll need to put down to make that dream a reality.
