Want to get the scoop on Yonge & Eglinton, Toronto’s “City Within a City”? Zoocasa is your source for important neighbourhood information for cities across Canada.

A third time’s a charm. In this edition of neighbourhood features, Zoocasa takes you downtown to a community with an uptown feeling, Toronto’s Yonge & Eglinton.

Yonge & Eglinton, Toronto’s “City Within a City”, is the perfect combination of the bustle and excitement of downtown and the calm and quiet of uptown living. The area was once known as “Young & Eligible” for its large population of young professionals. Today Yonge & Eg is an eclectic community with a wide range of detached homes, townhouses and high rise condo towers suitable for singles, couples, and families. Offering a blend of urban amenities and local charm, the Yonge & Eglinton area pairs big box retailers with independent restaurants, multi-screen movie theatres with small merchants, and corporate head offices with elementary and secondary schools.

Currently connected to the north and south by the Yonge subway line, the Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit line, which will be complete by 2020, will make this neighbourhood Toronto’s uptown hub.
