Industry experts mention that there were strong year-over-year increases in home sales and average selling price for the month as explained home ownership affordability as well as being backstopped by low borrowing costs. Toronto Real Estate Board President Diane Usher mentions that sales activity for the region has accelerate last month and that strong price growth will be the result for the remainder of 2014. The Zoocasa team has crunched the numbers below.
Sales breakdown
The average selling price this month for the city of Toronto was $597K which is up from $564K from the same time last year. There were 2,978 sales made during the month compared to the 2,891 of the same time last year. The number of new listings for the month stood at 5,625 which is slightly up from last year’s figure of 5,513. Finally the average days on market stood at 22 compared to 24 of March 2013.
