This week in Celebrity Homes: The Obamas seek a new stately option, Ricky Martin relaxes in his own private spa, and a truly out-of-this-world house trades hands. Read on for your star-studded real estate update!

The Obamas’ Post-White House D.C. Digs

(8,200 sq ft., 8 bedrooms) – US$4.3 million

LEASED: The presidential family may be moving on from the White House, but their new abode is hardly a downgrade. Located in Washington, D.C.’s Kalorama neighbourhood, the former POTUS, FLOTUS and daughters are sure to enjoy this tudor-style home featuring black and white Parisian-style flooring, multiple living spaces and fireplaces, newly-renovated kitchen, and floor-to-ceiling windows. And, with a top-of-the-line golf course just down the street, the former Commander-in-Chief will have ample time to unwind on the links.

Ricky Martin’s Beverly Hills Spa Paradise

(11,300 sq ft., 7 beds, 9 baths) – US$13.5 million

BOUGHT: Latin music sensation Ricky Martin has just snapped up a home so luxurious, he’ll hardly need to go on vacation. Located on a one-acre property, this tropical mansion features all the amenities of a resort, with an infinity-edged pool, two wet bars, soaking tub with waterfall feature AND an on-site, 2,000-square foot wellness centre. It sounds like the ultimate private paradise – but with onsite parking for nine, Ricky won’t have any trouble accommodating star-studded pool parties.

Bob Hope’s “UFO/Volcano” Palm Springs Home

(23,000 sq ft., 6 beds, 13 baths) – US$13 million

SOLD: Late actor Bob Hope’s former home, considered an architectural and design wonder, has finally been purchased, by a well-to-do collector of historic architecture. While it sold for a cool $13 million, that’s practically a bargain compared to its original listing 2013 price of $50 million. Referred to as the “UFO” or “Volcano” house, this dome-shaped abode is filled with peek-a-boo sky openings, giving residents a glimpse of the surrounding mountain landscape. Though with indoor and outdoor pools, tennis courts, putting green, pond, and a whopping 13 bathrooms, why would you ever want to leave this home’s other-worldly bubble?

Jason Derulo’s Coconut Creek Mansion

(11,514 sq ft., 7 beds, 9 baths, 2.5 acres) – US$1.95 million

SOLD: “Want You to Want Me” crooner and Florida native Jason Derulo has offloaded his home-state crash pad – for nearly a million below asking. Located in lush Coconut Creek, FL, this Mediterranean mansion sprawls over 2.5 acres and includes a nature reserve. The gated residence features Italian marble floors, a gourmet chef’s kitchen, pool with glass enclosure and seven bedrooms (four of which are master suites). Golf aficionados also won’t have to travel far; the prestigious Adios Golf and Country Club is located just across the street.
