Every year, Pantone releases a new Color of the Year, and in 2023 it’s all about Viva Magenta! This vibrant hue has been selected to represent the joys and challenges of our ever-changing world. But how do you incorporate this eye-catching colour into your home without it feeling overwhelming? Let’s figure out how to make Viva Magenta work for you.

Accent Wall or Feature Wall

If you want to add a splash of colour but don’t want an entire room dedicated to it, adding a feature wall can be a great way to tie in Viva Magenta without going overboard. You can paint one accent wall with this beautiful shade, or even just use decorative wallpaper for a more subtle effect. It’s also important to think about what other colours you can use in combination with Viva Magenta in order to create an interesting look that won’t be too overpowering. Try pairing lighter shades of pink, purple, and blue together for a unique but calming palette.

Furniture & Accessories

Viva Magenta can also be used as an accent on furniture pieces like chairs, sofas, or ottomans. Choose furniture with lines and curves that will draw attention to the colour without making it feel overwhelming. Look for pieces like a velvet sofa or throw pillows that will bring out the richness of the hue while still keeping things looking chic. Add some coordinating accessories such as coffee table books featuring images in magenta tones or vases filled with flowers in soft pinks and purples for extra visual interest.

Artwork & Decorations

Vibrant artwork is another great way to add some colour while still keeping things balanced within your interior design scheme. Look for abstract art featuring shades of magenta along with softer pastel hues. You can also look for vintage prints from artists who often use bright pinks and purples in their work – these will give your space an eclectic touch while still staying true to the Pantone Color of the Year theme! Finally, don’t forget about small decorations such as candle holders or picture frames – these little touches can help tie everything together beautifully!

Create Contrasting Colour Combinations

Viva Magenta pairs well with many colours across the spectrum but when used sparingly can create contrast even within its own family tree. For example, pair deep purples with pastel pinks or opt for lavenders next to magentas for a subtle yet stunning combination. Bright yellows will also create a striking effect against deeper shades of magenta which can be used to great effect if you’re looking for something truly eye-catching!

Pantone’s Color of the Year, Viva Magenta, may sound like an intimidating colour at first but with its versatility, there are plenty of ways you can incorporate it into your home while still achieving a modern yet cosy interior design aesthetic. Whether you decide on painting walls directly or opting for smaller accents here and there, be sure you have fun experimenting with this bold hue! With these interior design tips in mind, we hope that this bright yet calming shade will bring some energy and personality into your home for years to come!
