Over several years, she transformed it room by room, documenting every DIY project and transformation for her social media following.

An expert DIYer and antique collector, Wren documented every step of the transformation on social media, capturing hearts with her vintage finds and meticulous attention to detail. The home’s story has since been featured in Macleans and on the Home Network, solidifying its place as a standout example of heritage revival done right.

Over the years, she carefully peeled back layers of modern renovations to uncover the home’s original charm. She restored the plaster walls, refinished the original hardwood floors, and preserved the detailed trim and mouldings. To reflect the home’s historic roots, Wren selected muted, heritage-inspired paint colors, like buttery yellow, dusty olive, and moody blue, and styled each room with a mix of antique treasures and salvaged pieces. All of Wren’s updates pay homage to the Victorian house’s original craftsmanship while incorporating all the modern finishes you need in a 2025 home.

One of the kitchen’s standout design elements is the deep burgundy cabinetry, a bold, saturated hue that instantly warms the space. The rich color creates a striking contrast with the antiqued brass cookware hanging on display.

Another practical feature of the renovated kitchen is the inviting eat-in dining nook, perfect for leisurely breakfasts or gathering with friends. For the kitchen’s flooring, a soft ivory and warm sand checkered tile pattern adds a playful contrast.

The living room exudes rustic comfort, anchored by a cozy wood stove that’s ideal for chilly coastal evenings. French doors open onto a wraparound veranda, with sweeping river views that are nothing short of magical. It’s the perfect perch for morning coffee, sunset cocktails, or simply taking in the gentle rhythm of waterfront living.

Upstairs, three bedrooms radiate a sense of nostalgia and ease. The reimagined primary suite stands out with a boutique-style walk-in closet and a private balcony that offers panoramic views of the river.
