With phones, tablets, gaming devices, and everything else that needs to be charged, it can get overwhelming trying to keep track of cables, power blocks, and various chargers. Setting up a charging station for the whole house to use can take away some of that stress (and useless cables!).

Reuse and DIY
Mail organizers and pretty boxes can be perfectly DIY’d to make a charging station. Mail organizers are perfect for holding tablets, e-readers, gaming devices like Nintendo Switches, and phones while decorative boxes and bins can hide power cords and charging blocks. They can be placed in a central area like the living room or kitchen, or if you’re trying to keep track of the kids’ devices and monitor screen time, organizers can be safely tucked away in a closet or cabinet.
Junk Drawer To Charging Drawer
If you need a good excuse to finally clean out the kitchen junk drawer, transforming it into a charging station is a great way to keep things organized and reduce clutter on the countertops. A powerstrip at the rear of the drawer and run through the back means no more cables and wires over the counter, and can usually fit larger devices like laptops.
Utilize Cabinet Space
If your kitchen has shallow, awkwardly placed, or underused cabinets, or if there’s a spare spot in the laundry room, popping in an organizer like a mail sorter or a charging stand is another way to keep the charging contained.
Labels
With so many gadgets now powered by a charging cable over replaceable batteries, there are now an assortment of different cables needed to keep things juiced up. You can use dedicated cable clips and labels, or DIY your own using washi tape or paper to keep track of which cable belongs to which device, or who owns what cable. Not only will it make finding the right cable a breeze, but also cut down on any ‘they stole my charger!’ arguments.
More Considerations:
Instead of having a million little charging blocks, you could opt for one larger, single-plug charging station. These have several usb ports to plug multiple electronics into, but only require one electrical socket. Additionally, cable clips are a great way to keep cords where you want them, and out of a tangled mess. They can stick to nearly any surface, so no matter where you decide to put your charging station, they will work.
