This morning, Zoocasa was presented the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Award recognizing 50 public and private tech companies in Canada with the highest revenue growth rate over four years! Among other requirements, companies need to have been in business for at least four years, so we are excited to have ranked 15th with revenue growth of 1,138.7% the first time we’ve been eligible. You can read more about the program, now in its 22nd year, here.

This announcement comes hot off the heels of our recent inclusion on The Globe and Mail’s list of Top Growing Companies in Canada. At that time, I reflected on the exciting momentum we’ve built since 2015. Today, I want to reflect a bit on what sets us apart.

Our people and our technology drive our innovation

In the last decade, so much has changed in the world of real estate but a lot has remained the same. Finding the right balance between technological sophistication and the very human experiences that drive our decision making is fundamental to who we are as a company: equal parts human-powered and systems-enabled.

At Zoocasa, we want Canadians to feel empowered on their real estate journey right from the start. That’s why we strive to ensure that our clients have the right information at their fingertips when they need it. Our online tools help put so many aspects of the real estate journey into context: how much homes in a neighbourhood sold for, demographics and the latest market insights, information about schools nearby, or a breakdown of monthly housing costs. In 2020 and beyond, we’re looking forward to building more improved tools that fine-tune this experience even further.

For our real estate agents, the top priority will always be ensuring we are enabling them to have thriving, productive careers. That means ensuring they are in the best position to help their clients navigate the choices that lead to having the keys to a new home. We are so proud to be building an agent and brokerage team that recognizes how deeply personal this experience is, and who go above and beyond to guide clients through the real estate process with knowledge and empathy.

We strongly believe that both these sides of Zoocasa can’t exist without the other. We will always be successful when the powerful tools we build make it easier for our agents to do what they do best.

Our culture is at the core of what makes us successful

What is equally exciting is that in addition to putting in the work, we have also been quietly building a culture where we put in the effort to raise each other up. Over the past four years, we’ve grown into a team that celebrates each other’s successes. We help each other and learn from each other so we can all win together. It’s not something we particularly set out to create – it’s just who we are and how our team has evolved, and from my perspective, it plays a key role in helping us be our best and do our best for our clients. Every day.

Even if we aren’t always under the same roof, I truly believe that our platform and our people keep our community connected. Whether it’s growing our team, or growing our reach in new parts of the country I’m really looking forward to where we go from here, together.

If you’re reading this, and are excited by what we’re building – we’re hiring for a number of tech and brokerage roles on our team! Come join us!
