Halloween Haunt at Canada’s Wonderland is fun, but there’s more in Ontario for adults wanting to celebrate Halloween. Here are eight spooky events across Ontario to test your resolve and heighten your fear. 

Frightmare in the Falls

The largest horror festival in North America takes place at the Niagara Convention Centre and is perfect for those who love all things spooky and supernatural. Frightmare in the Falls features celebrity panels, film screenings, cosplay contests, and more. 

  • Dates: October 25 – October 27

Frightfest

Saunders Farm in Ottawa hosts the Frightfest; with horror levels starting at unsettling and going all the way to seriously scary, there’s an attraction for everyone. Frightfest has nine different events and attractions that promise heart-pounding thrills , and once you’ve gotten your fill of creepy, there’s lots of food and drinks stands to check out. 

  • Dates: September 21 – October 31

Royal Botanical Gardens After Dark: Pumpkin Trail

Not into horror and gore? For those who prefer cute and spooky Halloween vibes over creepy ones, the Royal Botanical Gardens hosts a Pumpkin Trail. Follow the lighted jack o’lanterns along the trails in Hendrie Valley and enjoy music, food, and entertainment. This event is for ages 19 and up.

Screemers

The original Toronto haunted attraction is celebrating 30 years of scaring visitors with 7 different attractions, a Midway and more. Fully immersive and housed under a massive tent (so it runs rain or shine), sample snacks from the food trucks, watch stage shows, or enter any of the attractions – if you dare. 

  • Dates: Select nights from October 11 – November 1

Screampark @ Bingemans 

Not for the faint of heart, Screampark claims to be Ontario’s scariest attraction, and they’re right. Leaning into the gory side of horror, Screampark has a variety of different attractions but bring the fear factor to a 10/10

  • Dates: Select dates from September 27 – October 27
  • Location: 425 Bingemans Centre Drive, Kitchener, Ontario, N2B 3X7

Cannington Haunted Attraction

Get ready for an unforgettable scare! This fully immersive horror experience at Cannington features actors lurking along two eerie wooded trails and inside a spine-chilling indoor barn maze. For the bold, test your nerves in horror-themed escape rooms or enjoy thrilling games for a tamer challenge. 

  • Dates: October 18 +19, October 25 + 26
  • Location: 91 Elliot St, Cannington, ON L0E 1E0

Haunted Hallows Scream Park

Get scared silly this Halloween at the Haunted Hallows. In among the twisted and gnarled trees, you’ll find terrifying clowns, ghouls, huge spiders, homicidal inmates, ravenous cannibals, disturbed mental patients, and mad physicians. Start counting down the days until you get to experience the fright of your life.

  • Dates: October 4 – November 2
  • Location: 18444 Yonge St, East Gwillimbury, ON L9N 0J4

Legends of Horror at Castle Loma

Including theatrically-constructed sets and 3D projections, this immersive experience brings characters to life and is set to scare the lights out of you. 

Casa Loma features its own Zombie Apocalypse, complete with biological labs conducting terrifying “experiments” and survival camps that immerse you in humanity’s final fight for survival against the living dead.
