Everything Pet Station
This is very convenient for owners as it allows everything your pet ever needs to be in one place. Taking a cabinet and putting a dog’s bed under it, with a pullout drawer for cat food and water bowls just makes sense. This way your pets can be comfortable and won’t have to walk far if they get a late-night craving for some snacks! This option is very low budget because if you have a cabinet, you can remove the door and have the dog bed in there and if there is a small pullout drawer, you have a place for the food bowls too!
Pet Wash Station
This feature allows you to wash your pet right at the door if they had too much fun in the mud! Instead of your pet walking all over the house with muddy paw prints, now you can clean them before any dirt is spread.
A pet wash station usually comes with a raised floor, an enclosed shower area with tiles, and a shower head. This will leave your pet smelling fresh and feeling clean after a fun play session outside, while also leaving the owner feeling at ease that their furniture won’t turn into a mud bath.
Wall-Mounted Cat Bed
This is a great option for giving your cat a cozy little area to sleep and lounge. Instead of big, bulky cat trees, all you need is a basket for this one. Hang a basket on the wall using large screws that can hold the weight of your cat and set it in place. Add a cozy blanket or a soft pillow for your cat to lay on. This option is very inexpensive, quick to assemble, and takes up little to no room.
Bed Extension
If you would rather your pet doesn’t jump on the bed, waking you up in the middle of the night, try adding a bed extension for them. This way your furry friend can still feel like they are a part of the family while allowing the owner to sleep well. Bed extensions are usually easy to set up and affordable and they can either be pulled out from under the bed or be set up on a cushioned bench at the bottom of the bed.
Ceramic Flooring
When you have pets, you must be conscious of the type of flooring you use because some floors cannot get wet and are very prone to scratches. Hardwood flooring for example is really bad for sctraches and if it gets wet, it can start to rot. Try using ceramic or terracotta tiles for your pet-friendly home design. This type of flooring is scratch-resistant and looks stylish in any room, whether that be the kitchen, bathroom or bedroom.
