The Greater Toronto Area (GTA) offers residents the chance to have a large house and backyard while being close to the city’s heart. The GTA includes Toronto and the local governments of Halton, Peel, York, and Durham, Canada’s most populous metropolitan area.

The Toronto region’s average house price reached $1,051,216 as of December. We’ve produced a list of inexpensive homes in the Greater Toronto Area that are on the market now and priced under $649,900.

To inform their particular judgments, prospective purchasers should conduct more investigation and pricing analysis for the houses and neighbourhoods that fit their financial situation and lifestyle requirements. The information is not meant to solicit vendors or buyers already working with a brokerage.

1. Cheapest Homes for Sale in The City of Toronto

Etobicoke to the west and Scarborough to the east are parts of the City of Toronto. In December, the city’s average price for a home was $1,017,989.

2. Cheapest Homes for Sale in Peel Region

The cities of Brampton and Mississauga, as well as the more rural area of Caledon, are all part of the Peel Region, which is situated west of the City of Toronto. In December, a property in Peel was $989,873 on average.

3. Cheapest Homes for Sale in York Region

The York Region, which lies to the north of the City of Toronto, comprises urban districts like Newmarket, Markham, Richmond Hill, and Vaughan, as well as rural places like Georgina and King. In December, the typical house price in this area was $1,267,563.

4. Cheapest Homes for Sale in Durham Region

One of the most affordable places to reside in the GTA is Durham, located east of Toronto. Small towns like Scugog and Uxbridge are included, as are a few small cities, including Oshawa, Ajax, Clarington, and Whitby. In December, the average cost of a home in Durham was $874,456.

5. Cheapest Homes for Sale in Halton Region

Halton is located west of the City of Toronto, beyond the Region of Peel, and includes the cities of Milton, Burlington and Oakville. It also includes Halton Hills, a more rural community. The average price for a home in Halton in October was $1,305,714.
