1. The cost of living is lower than many other major cities in Canada. 

The cost of living in Edmonton is very affordable. According to the Canadian Real Estate Association, the average cost of a home in Edmonton in October was $377,000, that’s 41.5% lower than the national average home price of $644,643. The cost of living in general is also quite affordable in Edmonton. 

2. There is no provincial sales tax. 

There is no provincial sales tax in Alberta. This means that you will save money on everyday purchases like clothes, groceries, and gasoline.

3. The job market is strong and diverse. 

Edmonton has a strong economy. The city’s unemployment rate is low and it is home to many big companies like ATB Financial, Telus, and the Canadian National Railway Company.

The city has a very diverse population. More than 25% of the people living in Edmonton were born outside of Canada. This makes for a very cosmopolitan city with many different cultural experiences to enjoy.
