Celebrity Homes of the Week: Britney Spears, Viola Davis, Neil Patrick Harris, Trevor Noah, Mr. T
We Canadians may be weathering out the last of the winter chills, but your favourite celebs aren’t letting cold weather blues stop their selling and buying ambitions. From Britney Spears’ extra mansion to Neil Patrick Harris’ posh vacation property, check out this week’s celebrity real estate listings.
Britney Spears’ Cali Country Club Estate
(5 bed, 5 +2 half bath, 8,456 sq. ft., US$7 million)
SOLD: Britney is proof positive that you better work work – the songstress, known for legendary hits Baby One More Time and Stronger, has just sold one of her two Thousand Oaks properties. Located within the gates of the Sherwood Country Club, this Spanish-style, one-level home boasts a ballroom-height foyer with fireplace, full wet bar, and climate controlled wine cellar. One of its most beautiful features, though, has to be the view of the Santa Monica Mountains, which can be taken in from the pool deck. We’re sure it won’t take Ms. Spears – who has quite the impressive real estate portfolio – long before she does it again and scoops up yet another impressive property.
Viola Davis’ Classic SoCal Suburban Home
(5 bed, 5 bath, 4,000 sq. ft., US$1.15 million)
SOLD: Ms. Davis, who just scooped up a supporting actress Academy Award for her role in Fences, has sold off her southern California abode, located just north of the San Fernando Valley. While she has recently upgraded to a palatial Mediterranean-style getaway in Toluca Lake, this house is nothing to sneeze at with a three-car garage, lagoon pool, wet bar, and newly-upgraded kitchen.
Neil Patrick Harris’ East Hampton Hideaway
(4 bed, 5.5 bath, 5,250 sq. ft., US$5.5 million)
BOUGHT: Funny man, movie star and magician Neil Patrick Harris and his family have reportedly taken ownership of a stately home in exclusive East Hampton. Flanked on all sides by a town-owned reserve, this extremely private property includes a wine cellar, four fireplaces, library, chef’s kitchen, and rooftop hot tub. The outside is just as impressive as in, with a tennis court, lilly pond, pool and tea house located on the grounds. It’s nothing short of legen-DARY!
Trevor Noah’s Hell’s Kitchen Condo
(3 bed, 3 + 2 half bath, 3,596 sq. ft., US$10 million)
BOUGHT: Jon Stewart’s The Late Show successor is doing well for himself, picking up a $10-million penthouse unit in the Manhattan building where he currently rents. This Hell’s Kitchen condo features fantastic skyline views via oversized windows, 14-foot den ceiling, eat-in kitchen, and massive 934-square-foot private terrace.
Mr. T’s Former Lake Forest Tudor
(9 bed, 10 bath, 14,293 sq. ft., US$7.5 million)
FOR SALE: There’s no need to pity the current owners of Mr. T’s (also known as Lawrence Tero) former home. They’re sure to get a pretty penny for this impressive English Tudor-style mansion, located on a sprawling eight-acre lot, and including no fewer than nine bedrooms, 10 baths AND 10 fireplaces! While whoever buys this gem will be kept warm and toasty during those Chicago winters, we’re sure they’ll also enjoy its library, butler’s pantry, eat-in kitchen, elevator and coach house.
