This week in Celebrity Homes: Emilia Clarke buys an abode large enough for her entire dragon brood, Sex and the City alum Cynthia Nixon claims a slice of Manhattan, and the Dempseys take another shot at love and real estate.

John Cusack’s Malibu home

(3 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, 4,660 sq. ft) – US$10.3 million

JUST SOLD: After six months on the market – and multiple price reductions – actor John Cusack, best known for his role on Being John Malkovich, has sold his beachfront oasis. Initially purchased for US$2.1 million in 1999, John is going to be making a healthy profit, but it’s still 25% below what he originally asked for (US$13.5 million). The Spanish-inspired home features a double-height living room, fireplace, gym and a dry sauna, and has direct access to the beach.

Patrick and Jillian Dempsey’s California home

(4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 4,415 sq. ft.) – US$6.4 million

JUST BOUGHT: It seems real estate can heal all relationship wounds: actor Patrick Dempsey (McDreamy) and wife Jillian have purchased a new Malibu home. This follows last week’s sale of the house Jillian acquired from Patrick in their divorce – but now that they’ve reconciled, they’re starting fresh in the real estate game. Let’s just say it’s complicated! The one-acre estate is fully landscaped, and guard-gated. It boasts a concrete fireplace, vaulted ceilings, two-person soaking tub, library/den, and a large flagstone-paved terrace with a free-form swimming pool. Who doesn’t love a happy ending?

Emilia Clarke’s California estate

(2 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2,817 sq. ft) – US$4.64 million

JUST BOUGHT: Mother of Dragons and Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke has just picked up a gorgeous piece of real estate in Venice, California. One of the most unique features of the home is the architectural design that carries an abundance of natural light throughout the property. The home features a 30-foot swimming pool, garden, and lounge area for the ultimate oasis. Inside, it has all of the upgrades and shiny appliances one could hope for. Be careful not to anger Emilia if you’re her neighbour, though – you could get burned.

Cynthia Nixon’s East Village co-op

(2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom) – US$1.490 million

JUST BOUGHT: Sex and the City alum and actress Cynthia Nixon has just purchased a pre-war co-op in New York City. The home has a long entrance gallery that leads into the living room with a view of the courtyard. High beam ceilings run across the home with parquet flooring throughout. The kitchen is on the smaller end, even by Manhattan standards. Though not as lavish of a home we’d expect from our celebrity friends, we’re sure Nixon has plans to do some renovations.

Vin Diesel’s Los Angeles starter home

(3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1,517 sq. ft.) – US$1.395 million

FOR SALE: Built in 1957, the Fast and the Furious star is re-listing his home after initially listing it in 2013 for US$ 1.3 million. Originally purchased in 2000 for just US$562,500, Vin Diesel stands to double his return and a bit more, not that he really needs it. The contemporary home is tucked behind a gated brick courtyard, and features meditation spaces, a built-in barbecue, and a large swimming pool and spa to top it all off.
