This week’s edition of Celebrity Homes features big winners and even bigger losers. Read on to learn more about Lady Gaga’s purchase from a fellow musical legend, and how Brangelina may sort out their enviable real estate collection.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, aka: Brangelina

(8 properties) – US$120 million

IN LIMBO: If you haven’t heard yet, then let us be the ones to fill you in: Brangelina is no more. News broke on September 21st that Angelina Jolie filed for divorce over irreconcilable differences. So what does this mean for their real estate properties? Combined, Pitt and Jolie have eight estates, estimated to be worth about US$120 million. There is no word on how they will divvy up the properties, but we’ve broken it down for you, so take a read and weep at the sad news.

Brangelina's impressive home collection.

Leonardo DiCaprio’s Malibu beachfront

(3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1,765 sq. ft.) – US$10.950 million

FOR SALE: Recent Academy Award winner and A-list actor Leonardo DiCaprio just listed his beachfront cottage. Initially purchased in 1998 for US$1.6 million, DiCaprio stands to make approximately US$9 million. The property boasts a fireplace, ocean-side views, gated courtyard and an outfitted galley kitchen. If you think you can tie down this infamous celebrity bachelor, then a home by the beach might not be too far off.

Roberta Flack’s Dakota apartment

(2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2,000 sq. ft.) – US$7.5 million

FOR SALE: Does the name Roberta Flack sound familiar? It should because the American songstress, best known for her hit, “Killing Me Softly,” has just decreased the price of her home from US$8.9 million to US$7.5 million. The home features four wood burning fireplaces, 12-foot ceilings, beautiful views of central park, and a Juliet balcony that runs half the length of the apartment.

Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood’s Malibu getaway

(4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, 4,200 sq. ft.) – US$7 million

JUST SOLD: Continuing with the Malibu theme, country music superstar couple Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood have just sold their California estate. Purchased originally in 2008 for US$5 million, the couple will profit a tidy US$2 million. The ranch-style residence includes a combination living and dining room with a corner fireplace, a gigantic outdoor lounging area and fireplace, and a half-court basketball court.

Lady Gaga’s Hollywood Hills compound

(5 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms, 7,545 sq. ft.) – US$5.25 million

JUST BOUGHT: American singer and six-time Grammy Award Winner Lady Gaga just purchased the home of the late and great Frank Zappa; a widely influential American musician. The property was originally purchased for US$75,000 in the mid-1970s, so with a US$5-million price tag in 2016…that would mean the home appreciated by approximately US$126,000 every year! The home itself is quite elaborate, featuring a dragon mural in the dining room, double-height art gallery, and the famed recording studio built by Zappa dubbed the “Utility Muffin Research Kitchen”. We can’t decide if we want to buy this home, or just tour it for the novelty.

Join the Real Estate Fight

If Brangelina can’t decide what to do with any of their eight homes, phone them up and throw your name into the ring – maybe they’ll give you a discount on their Chateau Miraval property, which has been quietly rumoured to be on the market. If not, then you can always use one of these mortgage calculators to purchase something just slightly more affordable.
