Making new memories is the perfect way to end the year. Create a fun photo corner with shiny gold streamers and confetti, a gold-and-black balloon archway, and helium number balloons displaying the upcoming year as the backdrop decorations. For props, fill a basket with New Year-themed headbands, oversized photo frames, and other festive accessories. Set out a digital camera so guests can take turns capturing fun photos throughout the night.

DIY Memory Wall with Friends

Before the party, print out a collection of you, your friends, and your family. Ask guests to bring something meaningful they did that year, like a movie ticket, a receipt from a fun dinner, or a plane ticket. Then set up a small craft table with scissors, tape, markers, and stickers so everyone can help create the memory wall. It’s a wholesome activity that brings everyone closer, letting you reminisce year together.

Who doesn’t love a sweet treat? Buy or bake plain cupcakes and set out different colors of frosting in celebratory colors like gold, silver, and black, along with edible glitter, sprinkles, and New Year-themed toppers. Guests can decorate their own cupcakes however they like and take photos of their creations. It’s a festive, interactive activity that gets everyone in the New Year’s spirit, and it tastes delicious, too!

New Year’s Eve Karaoke Session

To keep the energy high, host a karaoke session. Set up a microphone and a karaoke machine, then let everyone take turns singing their favorite songs. Include a mix of classic, party hits, and New Year-themed songs. It’s a lively way to keep guests entertained and in the celebratory spirit.

Prepare to cheers to the New Year with a build-your-own drink station for mixing your own cocktails or mocktails. Fill the station with ice, a variety of juices, sparkling drinks, mixers, and garnishes like fruit slices or edible glitter. Include festive glasses and unique stirrers for a playful touch. A build-your-own drink station is the perfect way to toast to the New Year when the countdown begins.

Celebrating in Style (From Home)

This year, celebrate with New Year’s Eve ideas at home, stay cozy away from the cold, and enjoy a wonderful night with the people you love most. From interactive activities to delicious treats and drinks, there are plenty of ways to make the night memorable without leaving home.
