With a population increasing by over 20.7% in the past five years, Brampton is fast becoming one of the most in-demand areas for young families looking to settle down in the Greater Toronto Area. Located just east of Toronto proper with easy connections to the city via both the GO Train and various highways, the growing suburban town of Brampton has evolved from an untouched land to a vibrant and diverse community.

It’s easy to see why Brampton real estate has become a popular choice for families: the growing population of 524,000, low crime rate, over 6,000 acres of green space and the varied range of homes for all ages and income levels attracts families from all over the world looking for space to spread out.

If you are considering moving to Brampton, you can’t miss our list of top neighbourhoods for raising a family.

Fletcher’s Meadow

Located in the northwest corner of Brampton, Fletcher’s Meadow offers a mixture of fully detached houses, semi-detached homes and townhomes to suit a young family’s budget. With an average property price of $381,555, Fletcher’s Meadow is an affordable solution while remaining close to highly ranked schools, community centers, and parks.

Sandringham-Wellington

Sandringham-Wellington is a peaceful community bordered by Countryside Drive, Airport Road, Bovaird Drive and Heart Lake Road. This neighbourhood is popular due to its direct access to Highway 410 and subsequently downtown Toronto. Sandringham-Wellington is close to the Heart Lake Conservation Area and the Brampton Library.

This neighbourhood is full of fully detached homes and duplexes, and the average property price is $412,823.

Vales of Castlemore

For families looking to settle in a prestigious area with high home values, the Vales of Castlemore neighbourhood is the right choice. Here you’ll find perfectly manicured lawns in front of fully detached homes on expertly planned and peaceful streets. Your children will enjoy this neighbourhood for the many parks and amenities nearby including the famous Claireville Ranch with its kilometers of trails in the Claireville Conservation area. During the school year, the nearby Innocent Hearts Academy provides a high-quality educational experience.

Property values in this neighbourhood tend to be slightly higher, with an average home price around $551,098.

Snelgrove

Do you work in downtown Toronto but crave the peace and quiet that comes from having no visible neighbours near your property? Do you desire a home backing onto a park or ravine for a relaxing experience? If so, Snelgrove is the right place for you and your family. In this historic community, you’ll often find homes backing onto the nearby namesake forest.

But nature isn’t the only amenity offered by Snelgrove; you’ll also find yourself close to the Brampton Library, the Loafer’s Lake Recreation Centre and the numerous shops along Huron Street.

Fletchers’ West

The most affordable neighbourhood on our list, Fletchers’ West has an average home price of $356,094. This neighbourhood features many parks, baseball diamonds, football fields, schools and the green and spacious Lloyd Sanderson Park. Shops and restaurants are also nearby along Chinguacousy Road and Queen Street West, making Fletchers’ West one of the most walkable neighbourhoods on the list.
