Snow Day: The Vintage Edition

It was only last month that we had a large amount of snow dumped on us and we’ve recently taken another hit from last week’s snow storm. Living in Toronto has living in snow as a requirement and it is something that we Canadians have engrained in our culture.

A post from Derek Flack shows vintage photographs of the city with a heavy dusting of the snow. The shots below are our favourites:

Shovelling, 1961 (City of Toronto Archives)
Queen Street, 1992 (City of Toronto Archives)
Snow Blower, 1943 (City of Toronto Archives)
Yonge looking north at Adelaide, 1944 (City of Toronto Archives)
Bus Stop, 1961 (City of Toronto Archives)
