Just steps away from the cabin will deliver astounding views that include; Mount Blanca (to the N) and the Sangre de Cristo Range (to the E) or look South & straight down into NM where you'll see the solitary Ute and San Antonio Mountains. Here, the San Luis Valley spreads out before you; sitting on your secluded eyrie, the sunset will feel like it's yours alone. The dark skies here provide stargazers a night full of awe and opportunity. This studio house is equipped with a wood burning soapstone stove, so even when the fire is down to embers, the soap stone retains the heat. A Eskabe propane heater (high altitude guaranteed) is installed so that you can comfortably leave & not worry about the inside temperatures. Wired for surround sound and equipped with TV, DVD player and even a plethora of movies, your winter nights' entertainment is already built right in! Off-the-grid here means that water will be hauled from the community well and deposited into your cistern, and solar, batteries and a back up generator ensure you'll never be left in the dark. The cabin was constructed with 2 x 6 wall studs (instead of standard 2? X 4?) allowing enough space for R19 insulation in the walls. R30 insulation is in the ceiling and the cabin was fully wrapped in Tyvek, ensuring warmer winter nights. The low E windows are designed to have low heat loss while still allowing for solar heat gain. Interior construction includes drywall covered in tongue and groove aspen. The tin ceiling with it's smooth, light reflecting qualities was installed in 2019. This is the perfect base cabin with all the amenities and if you want to, it's also the perfect stay at home and unwind cabin. Hunting is allowed on property w/ proper permits.
