Oak Ridges is an unincorporated community of Richmond Hill. It is located just about 20 km north of the northern border of Toronto and about 35 km from Downtown Toronto. It is also developed around Lake Wilcox, the largest lake in the area. Oak Ridges can also sometimes be considered separate from Richmond Hill, given the differences in development patterns and plans and a large natural area.
