First of all, take a deep breath, breathe it out, and know you\u2019re not going crazy; this is all totally normal when buying your first home.<\/p>\n<p>Even if you\u2019re done a great job saving your hard-earned pay cheques, or have an immediate family member helping with the down payment, it can be an overwhelming experience.<\/p>\n<h2>Step 2: Make Your Must-Have List<\/h2>\n<p>While getting professional help \u2013 such as a real estate agent and mortgage broker \u2013 needs to be your first move, it\u2019s important to be mentally and financially prepared. &nbsp;Here\u2019s what must be in place before you start your home search.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>you need to have a job: <\/strong>While this may seem obvious, it is important as whatever mortgage amount you qualify for will be based on your income, and ability to pay back what you\u2019ve borrowed from your lender.<\/li>\n<li><strong>you need good credit: <\/strong>Your in-depth credit rating and report will be pulled by your mortgage professional, who will then share it with your lender.
