"Michael-Jackson-second-home-2"

As pricing for Toronto real estate continues to soar and the Vancouver housing market is hotter than ever, a lot of Canadians are forced to take a back seat and just enjoy the view. We decided to take it a step further by curating a list of five luxurious celebrity homes that we can only dream of affording.

Happy window shopping!

"Matt-Lauer-home"

JUST BOUGHT

  1. Matt Lauer’s Hampton Compound (12 bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, 27,259 sq ft) – $36.5 MIL

Dubbed Strongheart Manor, this 6.2-acre includes a waterfront pool, basketball court, waterfront pond with a bridge, and an “island inspired tea house.” It was previously owned by Richard Gere, and was initially listed for $65 million in 2013, before Lauer snapped it up at a close-to-50% price reduction!

    "Michael-Jackson-second-home"

    FOR SALE

    1. Michael Jackson’s Thriller Villa (7 bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, 27,259 sq ft) – $9.5 MIL

Although it’s nowhere near as famous as Neverland Ranch—Michael Jackson’s other home—Thriller Villa, hit the market recently and sits on a gigantic 1.7-acre lot. This grand piece of property comes with all the bells and whistles you’d imagine, with one jaw-dropping feature: a two-storey, 74-seat, Medieval-style chapel.

      "Kylie-Jenner-home"

      FOR SALE

      1. Kylie Jenner’s Starter Home (5 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, 4,851 sq ft) – $3.9 MIL

At the tender age of 18, Kylie Jenner is already selling her first home! Her gorgeous 5,000-square-foot Calabasas home is tucked away behind a private gated entrance that leads to a courtyard with a built-in fire pit. Not too shabby for a starter home; if you have close to $4 million to blow, jump on this.

        "Shaq-home"

        JUST BOUGHT

        1. Shaq’s Two-house Compound (8 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, 7,400 sq ft) – $1.15 MIL

Shaq scored an amazing deal with this $1.15-million, two-house compound. Nestled just 30 miles out of Atlanta, not only does it sit on 14 acres of land, but it includes a three-stall barn with an attached workshop, fully equipped gym, swimming pool, game room, and a 12-seat home theatre. All for just over the price of the average Toronto home

          "Taylor-Swift-apartment"

          WHOA

          1. Taylor Swift’s West Village Townhouse (5 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, 5,400 sq ft) – $38,000/month

While Taytay waits for renovations on her $20-million Tribeca home to wrap up, she’s shacking up at a friend’s for a cool $40,000/month in the west village. This two-storey townhouse is a stunner with a private roof top terrace, floor-to-ceiling windows, and comes fully furnished. Only in our wildest dreams (get it?) can we expect to afford even rental at a property like this.
