“Our numbers are increasing after last year’s success and the new location at the Evergreen Brick Works allows us a lot of spacial flexibility and also a facility that is built on ‘GREEN Technologies’.” Said Richard Silver, of Bosley Real Estate and President Elect of the Toronto Real Estate Board.

Richard Silver, along with Evan Sage and Brad Sage of Sage Realty, and Shirley Porter of RE/MAX Premier are the main organizers of RE Bar Camp Toronto.

What is RE Bar Camp Toronto you ask, and why did spots sell out so quickly two months before it takes place on May 3rd?

Real Estate Bar Camp is based on an innovative form of information dissemination. A collaborative and participatory learning environment is created versus the standard presenter and audience format that is typical of any conference meeting. The Real Estate Bar Camp is a phenomenon that has increasingly grown in the last two years and is exponentially cropping up across the US; Toronto will see its second such event this year.

Just why is it so out of the ordinary? Imagine an unstructured gathering where industry professionals sign up to meet and together, comprise a list of desired topics and form group dynamics where discussion is not only highly encourage but mandatory and every individual’s involvement is welcomed – there is no specified one “teacher”.

In the realm of social media, perhaps this is the perfect setting – where organic learning, social interaction and unlimited spontaneity is an apt environment to better understand the possibilities of online communication and marketing. What can I do to make my real estate website more successful? How do I best use social media tools? These are the type of questions that may be answered but topics are by no means limited to one central theme. The beauty of the event is that every single attendee can pose a discussion topic or even present information.

Taking place at the Brick Works (you may have gone there for the farmer’s market) on May 3rd, RE Bar Camp Toronto is already sold out, however, a wait list sign up is available for a chance to attend this year’s event.

An event held at the Evergreen Brick Works.
