Google recently announced that it’s dropping real estate listings from Google Maps. Previously agents were able to upload their listings to Google’s classified site, Google Base, but the company announced yesterday that it will no longer support this function.
That means if you previously used it to search properties for sale, rental or foreclosures you’ll have to look elsewhere for those listings next month.
Why? With competition from other real estate websites with property search functionality, the Google feature has experienced diminished usage. Coinciding with planned changes to the programming infrastructure, the company decided to retire the feature on February 10th.
