This week has certainly been a political whirlwind. President-elect Donald Trump secured the electoral college vote shortly before 3 a.m. Tuesday, leaving a nation divided – and many researching their north-of-the-border real estate options. Interest in moving to Canada spiked so strongly, it infamously crashed our nation’s immigration website, and Zoocasa.com is no exception!
Requests for info about moving to Canada have been flooding in, according to our dedicated customer service team. “From 11 p.m. last night to 5 a.m. this morning, we did see an increase in American visitors on the site seeking information about moving to Canada; it was a substantial uptick from our usual inquiries,” says Dan Lee, a Zoocasa customer service representative. “Many of our callers stated they either have family in Canada that they wish to join, or are holding Canadian passports or dual citizenship – and they were very thankful for those connections.”
To follow up on our previous look at how moving to Canada interest has grown throughout the election process, we’ve rounded up how American sentiment changed as the votes were counted. Check out the data in the infographic below.
