Hi Garvin. Unfortunately, there is no public website that can show you those numbers. You can ask your realtor to help you with this information.

    Thanks,

Hi Garvin. As Shawn mentioned, there is no web site available to the public where you could go and find the sale price of a house. However you could contact anyone of the licenced sales representatives on this site, maybe one that is in the area you need the information for, and they could assist you further and help find the sale price.

Alternatively, you could go to the land registry office and get the sales information you seek.

    Hi Garvin,

Begging to differ with my colleagues above, YES there is:

    http://www.mpac.ca/pages_english/products_services/aboutmyproperty.asp

You will have to register for a free account. Keep in mind that while you will be able to access recent sale prices for properties comparable to your property, you will not have any details about the features, condition, inspection results, size, layout, motivations, or anything else required to develop a solid understanding of how the sale price of a comparable property relates to the market value of your property. And you are limited to a small set of comparables and will not be able to bring to the equation the value of valid alternative properties for potential buyers of your property, that may be in similar neighbourhoods nearby.

It takes experience (lots) to accurately determine value, and a lot more data than just a few sale prices nearby, of homes you have never visited.

However, if a neighbour sold recently and you are very familiar with their property (visited it often) and it is nearly identical to yours, you will have *some* of the information that will help you get closer to understanding your prpoerty value. There could well still be factors you are not aware of, however.

    Enjoy and best of luck,
    Bruce

In Ontario, deeds and transfer of ownership are registered by real estate lawyers on closing day. The deed will state what the property sold for. All real estate lawyers in Ontario will have registration access to the land titles office and you can contact your real estate lawyer to do a basic search and find out the sale price of the property you are interested in.
