How do I find average house prices for detached homes around the Toronto area and outside?
-
Well, you could ask your agent!
Seriously, the Toronto Real Estate Board publishes fairly extensive monthly stats. You may need a little expert help to properly analyse trends or understand some of the neighbourhood divisions, but here is a link to the latest "MarketWatch" stats:http://www.torontorealestateboard.com/consumer_info/market_news/mw2010/pdf/mw1006.pdf
This address:

Good luck.
You may have to copy/paste that if it doesn't show as an "active" link. -
(over 1 year ago)The best way to get accurate statistics for average housing prices, is through the Toronto Real Estate Board, who maintain extensive statistics, and you will require the services of a real estate agent who can provide this. We can provide statistics on a specific street, a specific "neighbourhod" or city.. We can compare specific details relataive to number of bedrooms, style of home, whether it has a finished basement, number of bathrooms, etc. so we can compare "apples to apples." However since the market is ever changing, you will need to check these figures on a monthly basis to receive the most up to date statistics.
I generate a monthly newsletter via email. Please drop me a line and I will add you to my distribution list for monthly stats. gvalvasori@rogers.com. -
You can look up the listings of currently listed houses on www.mls.ca, and after looking up many listings you can have an idea of the asking prices in the that area. For how much the houses have sold recently, the best way is to contact a realtor who can look up the area for you in the Toronto Real Estate Board data base.

Email me. I'll get you all the details you need.

The Toronto Real Estate Board and Royal LePage Real Estate Services publishes these figures on a periodic basis. You should however start working with an agent as they can assist you with narrowing down the numbers to more specifically deal with the areas you are interested in.

The best is to ask your Realtor, he will get all answers for you!

TREB is a great source for MLS(tm) district based data
It'll be even better when "Zoning Neighbourhood" districts are added
