These are exciting times for Canadian real estate market.
On April 2nd, 2011, The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) voted in favour of setting up a Data Distribution Facility (DDF) designed to ensure that the data, trademarks and marketing options are not only accurate but also protected and displayed to general public in a positive manner. What does this mean? It means that every Realtor or Brokerage in Canada will be able to add their listings to Zoocasa as easily as click of a button!
We at Zoocasa welcome this move and believe current, accurate and consistent listings data will pave the way for improved customer experience resulting in enhanced public view of Real Estate Professionals. Moreover, such a platform will allow Realtors to ‘easily’ syndicate listings to web sites of their choice allowing them to market their inventory competitively. They won’t need to be concerned about keeping their listing data up-to-date on various web sites; CREA will manage data feeds and protect it’s integrity across the board.
In recent months, Zoocasa has seen an increased interest from the Real Estate community to syndicate their listing data either via manual upload or via other technology companies. This is directly due to Realtors feeling growing need to market their inventory on as many Internet web sites as they possibly can. While Zoocasa remains open to receive this data from any legitimate source, our focus is to receive the data from the respective Real Estate Boards to ensure accuracy for customers and ease for realtors.
