FOR SALE: David Geffen, the American business tycoon best known for creating Geffen Records (now owned by Universal Music Group), is listing his Fifth Avenue home in New York City. Estimated by Forbes to be worth $6 billion dollars, the home was originally purchased by Geffen for US$14.17 million in 2010. That’s quite the return! The home boasts unobstructed views of Central Park, a custom-fitted walk-in closet, sound-proofed screening room, and a wall of floor-to-ceiling bookshelves.
Adam Levine’s Beverly Hills estate
(5 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, 7,100 sq. ft.) – US$15.950 million
FOR SALE: Maroon 5 crooner and The Voice judge Adam Levine is listing his California home after purchasing it three months ago. As a result, he’ll be taking a US$1 million loss, having initially purchased it for US$17 million. The 3.6-acre estate features a gourmet kitchen, lounge/screening room with a state-of-the-art projection system, gym/spa, and a two-storey car garage. The best feature of the home, though, has to be the panoramic mountain and canyon views.
Viola Davis’s California getaway
(5 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms, 7,545 sq. ft.) – US$5.7 million
JUST BOUGHT: Emmy Award-winning actress Viola Davis, best known for her role on How to Get Away with Murder, just snagged this gorgeous European-style mansion for US$5.7 million. Located in Toluca Lake, the home has a chef’s kitchen, wet bar, fireplace, a home theatre featuring a 133-inch screen, 600-bottle wine closet, saltwater pool, and a 300-sqaure-foot closet. This home has it all, doesn’t it?
Drake’s Hidden Hills home
(4 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, 4,445 sq. ft.) – US$2.85 million
JUST BOUGHT: Canadian treasure and rapper Drake just made some sweet music in California’s real estate market after purchasing a one-acre compound on a peaceful cul-de-sac. Built in 1955, the ranch-style home has an open floor plan with high ceilings, multiple fireplaces, secluded backyard with a swimming pool, and an 800-square-foot guesthouse. Word of advice if you want to take up residence in his guesthouse: call him on his cellphone.
Molly Ringwald’s New York home
(2 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, 3,483 sq. ft.) – US$1.7 million
JUST SOLD: Molly Ringwald, best known for her role in the cult film The Breakfast Club, has just sold her East Village home after two months on the market. The buyer is Alexi Lubomirski, a celebrity photographer who also happens to be a Polish prince. The soon-to-be royal home features 10-foot ceilings with exposed wood beams, stainless steel counter tops, carved marble fireplace, and a private roof terrace. Anyone up for living next to a prince?
